Overview
Supported by the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, the NutriCare Study at Tufts University aims to evaluate the impact of medically tailored meals plus nutrition counseling on improving food and nutrition security, clinical outcomes, and quality of life among vulnerable patients with lung cancer from four medical centers in diverse regions of the United States. NutriCare is seeking a part-time Data Analyst to support the final year of the study. As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of trial-related data. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will design, implement, and manage databases while adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include implementing validation checks and generating reports for study investigators. With a keen eye for detail and proficiency in relevant data management tools, you will contribute to the success of our clinical trial by maintaining robust data management processes and supporting the broader research objectives.
What You’ll Do
The major responsibilities of this position include:
- Support for the Biostatistics and Data Management Team with data cleaning and ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the trial duration.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for study investigators and regulatory submissions.
- Data manipulation and the management of dietary data output from dietary recalls entered in DHQ III, as well as patient reported survey and medical record data entered into REDCap.
- Development and maintenance of SAS programs for quality assurance processes and the coding of patient reported outcome scores.
- Guide the adoption of best practices for data collection, curation and archival across core units through development and management of research data management plans.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related field and at least two years of experience in data management and SAS programming
- Experience working with SAS macro and SQL procedures.
- Strong data management skills including the ability to handle and organize data from different sources, and perform quality control processes
- Knowledgeable with operating in REDCap including setting and configurating question skip pattern logic, customized alerts, data export, and report generation
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, clinical research, clinical trial processes and related regulatory requirements and terminology; ethical manner at all times
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and team skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated proficiency in English language skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in statistics or health sciences-related field and 2-3 years of experience in a research setting
- Experience in basic to intermediate statistical analysis
- Working knowledge of relational databases
- Experience in academic writing and publishing
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects, organize work, and set priorities to meet deadlines while working within prescribed time constraints
The Data Analyst is expected to work for 7 hours a week. This position is fully remote.
