I studied art history in college, and then worked on farms for a handful of years after, primarily doing farm-based education. I was really interested in the intersections between agriculture and the environment, and decided to pursue my master’s in the AFE program at Friedman. I wanted to do state-level policy work, maybe around water quality, but ended up finding a federal policy position at American Farmland Trust. I’ve been at AFT for 3.5 years now, where I do advocacy, focusing on the Farm Bill. My work focuses on climate and conversation issues, but also includes work on farm viability and farmland protection.
