Position Purpose: Want to solve problems? The Office of Sustainability is looking to hire Friedman students who are passionate about sustainability and want to help solve sustainability challenges here at Tufts. Sustainable Solutions Graduate Fellows will help explore the following questions:
- How can University Dining Services effectively utilize cutting edge research coming out of Friedman to provide healthy, sustainable options to the Tufts community?
- What are opportunities for collaborations between Friedman and Dining to providing deep-learning opportunities for students?
Position Description: Sustainable Solutions Fellows work to progress Tufts sustainability goals by:
- Conducting research on a specific sustainability topic
- Supporting campus stakeholders in their efforts to make Tufts more sustainable
- Sharing findings with community members
- Drafting recommendations to stakeholders
- Developing problem solving skills by learning and by doing
Hours, Timeframe & Compensation: This position will begin starting the week of October 7th working 7- 9 hours a week, with a primarily virtual, flexible schedule. Student will make $20/hour.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing abilities
- Reliable, with good time management skills
- Interest in sustainability topics, research, and solutions
- A positive attitude and ability to take initiative
