A position with responsibility for providing clerical functions and related duties for Food and Nutrition Services.
Provides office and clerical support to Food and Nutrition Services Coordinator and Supervisor.
Maintains department files for food orders, inventories, menus, diet sheets, diet orders, recipes and equipment.
Maintains the confidential nature of client and business information.
Compiles data for food costs, monthly and annual reports; updates various information for Food and Nutrition Services production.
Posts menus and cleaning schedules in Food and Nutrition Services Department.
Distributes menus for the facility.
Reviews and summarizes temperature documentation and cleaning schedules.
Prints and compiles diet cards from Food and Nutrition Services software system.
Assists assigned staff in collecting data for special projects, compiling data and preparing a variety of reports and forms.
Assists in maintenance of detailed filing systems.
Provides backup services to other administrative staff in the absence of assigned secretarial support.
Attends appropriate in-services/educational programs.
Maintains effective working relationships with other employees.
Maintains documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
Complies with all safety and quality assurance standards.
Demonstrates awareness of departmental objectives and priorities and complies with all applicable departmental and Center policies and procedures.
Perform related functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:
Must be enrolled in a Dietetic Program at a University or Technical College.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures.
Knowledge of modern office equipment, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, vocabulary and remedial medical terminology.
Ability to follow HIPPA regulations (protecting the privacy and security of patients’/residents’ medical records and health information).
Ability to initiate and complete a variety of work assignments independently or with brief instructions.
Ability to input data and print reports from various databases.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to do mathematical calculations for accurate record keeping and preparation of reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships.
