Department Summary |
Bridgewater State University’s health programs are housed in the Department of Health and Kinesiology. In addition to the health programs, the department is home to physical education, exercise physiology and health science majors. The department prepares public and community health professionals, coaches, fitness and recreation leaders, and school teachers in physical education, and adapted physical education to provide qualified leadership in their respective fields, and enhance the quality of life of residents of the region and the Commonwealth.
The Department of Health and Kinesiology offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including majors in Public Health, Health Studies, Health Science (with concentrations in pre-Occupational Therapy, pre-Physical Therapy, and pre-Athletic Training), Physical Education (with five concentration options), and Exercise Physiology. Additionally, we offer a minor in Nutrition and graduate programs such as an MS in Physical Education, and a graduate certificate in Professional Tennis Management. Essential Duties |
The Department of Health and Kinesiology seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Public Health and Nutrition. The ideal candidate will have expertise in nutrition, hold the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential, and have a background in public health education. Applicants should demonstrate scholarly inquiry, a commitment to equity-minded practices, possess experience teaching at the college/university level, and be skilled in a variety of teaching modalities, such as student-centered learning and inquiry-based approaches.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
