The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Nutrition team is working to increase access to adequate micronutrient nutrition through a large-scale food fortification (LSFF) focused strategy. Food fortification—adding essential vitamins and minerals to everyday food staples such as salt, flour, and cooking oil—is one of the most scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective tools to reduce micronutrient deficiencies worldwide. Nutrition is part of the Family Planning, MNCH, Nutrition Cluster – three interrelated teams focused on the health and well-being of women, mothers, newborns, and children. The LSFF strategy will invest in game-changing solutions to produce actionable data; deliver high-quality technical assistance to millers and food producers; achieve innovations in micronutrients, food vehicles, and devices; increase industry self-monitoring and transparency; and promote the adoption of more and better standards for large-scale food fortification.
The Nutrition team is looking for a Senior Program Officer (SPO) to manage and grow a portfolio of investments focused on advancing technology and product innovations for food fortification programs. The role reports to the Deputy Director, Product and Data Innovations
