The Division of Rheumatology at Tufts Medical Center is looking for a motivated individual to fill the position of research assistant focused on clinical studies in systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease that disproportionately affects young women and minorities. The research assistant (RA) will work directly with the principal investigator, an attending physician, on a new NIH-funded study evaluating a digital peer coaching intervention for fatigue in patients with lupus. This is a part-time position (15-20 hours/week) and the ideal candidate will be someone with some prior clinical or qualitative research experience and an interest in patient-engaged research, behavioral interventions, digital health, health equity and/or women’s health.
RA responsibilities will include:
- Patient recruitment, screening, and enrollment in the pilot clinical trial
- Data collection, data entry, and generation of data reports
- Scheduling meetings and study visits; calendar maintenance
- Communication with IRB and maintenance of records in accordance with IRB requirements
- Organizing study participant feedback interviews and assisting with qualitative analysis
- Assistance with preparation of abstracts, presentations, and publications as needed
- Assistance with literature reviews
- Assistance with protocol review and development
We are looking for candidates who are extremely organized and detail-oriented, with excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills. Qualified candidates will have the ability to prioritize tasks quickly and appropriately. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and an ability to learn new software as needed is required. Experience with REDCap and qualitative data analysis software is a plus.
